"Genetic Fingerprint” of the Surface

The gear-tooth surface analysis is a minimally inva- sive alternative used to inspect the condition of the gearing in case of irregularities - without costly disassembly - in order to begin eventually required measures on time. By means of a gear-tooth profile pressing carried out on site, the surface can be inspected for damages under a scanning electron microscope (SEM) in the laboratory.
